2 Injured in Fatal Crash on Varner Road [Indio, CA]

Indio, CA (September 26, 2024) – Two men were injured in a deadly vehicle crash on Varner Road Tuesday morning.

It was before 8 a.m. when the vehicle crash happened east of 38th Avenue.

An 18-year-old driver from Cathedral City was eastbound when his Lexus sedan swerved onto the right shoulder and lost control. 

The teen driver overcorrected to the left and crossed over the dividing lines into the westbound lane, where the vehicle crashed into a pick-up truck.

The white Ford hauling a utility trailer occupied by two men was traveling west on Varner when the collision happened. Both the driver and passenger were injured in the collision.

Sadly, the 18-year-old driver was killed at the crash scene.
