Smith County, TX (March 2, 2023) – On Wednesday, two people sustained injuries when a police pursuit ended in a crash on Interstate 20.

The crash on Interstate 20 in Smith County happened on March 1.

DPS said a trooper was patrolling I-20 just before noon Wednesday and tried to stop a Dodge Charger for speeding. 

The driver crossed over the center median on I-20 at the FM 14 exit and ran a stop sign on the service road. The driver T-boned a vehicle on FM 14. 

EMS transported both drivers to a Tyler hospital.

Investigators said Rodrick Jones of Shreveport has active warrants out of Navarro County. He is charged with possession of marijuana, felon in possession of a firearm, and evading arrest.
