Injuries Reported in Escondido Auto Accident on Del Dios Road near Lake Hodges Dam

ESCONDIDO, CA (March 12, 2023) – Saturday morning, two people suffered injuries in a two-vehicle crash on Del Dios Road near Lake Hodges Dam.

The incident happened at 11:04 a.m. at 8899 Del Dios Highway, said the Rancho Santa Fe Fire Protection District. According to Battalion Chief Greg O’Gorman, responders transported an adult male and female to a nearby Palomar hospital. Reports confirmed that the patients came from each vehicle.

O’Gorman added that rescue crews extricated a victim from one of the vehicles.

After temporary closure to let first responders work at the scene, the road has reopened. Meanwhile, the San Diego County Sheriff’s Department also helped the Rancho Santa Fe crew.

At this time, the circumstances that led to the crash remained unclear. Once additional details become available, the public will be notified.

Due to the limited information available, the authorities continued to investigate the crash.
