2 Hurt in Santa Cruz Auto Accident on Highway 17 near Highway 1
SANTA CRUZ, CA (November 13, 2022) – Thursday afternoon, two people sustained injuries in a rollover crash on Highway 17 near Highway 1.
The incident occurred at around 4:30 p.m. on northbound Highway 17 north of the connector ramp with southbound Highway 1.
According to reports, a 2013 Mazda veered off the roadway for still unknown reasons. Then, it continued up a dirt embankment where it struck a metal guard rail before it rolled over.
Moreover, responders rushed an 18-year-old female passenger of the Mazda to Natividad Medical Center via helicopter with major injuries. Also, the Mazda driver, a 20-year-old Watsonville man, sustained minor injuries in the incident.
