2 Injured in Car Collision on Florida Avenue and Lyon Avenue [Hemet, CA]

2 People Hurt in Hemet Car Accident

 
HEMET, CA (April 11, 2019) – Two drivers sustained injuries, including one hospitalized, in a rollover car collision in Hemet on April 9.
 
According to reports, a woman got stuck in her overturned car just north of Florida Avenue and Lyon Avenue.
 
The City of Hemet Police and Fire Departments, along with other emergency personnel, came to the area about 3:45 p.m. 911 callers told authorities that two vehicles collided and an injured woman got stuck inside her overturned car.
 
Upon their arrival, they located a silver Honda Fit and White Dodge Durango. The totaled Honda landed on its roof within the lanes of travel on Lyon. Meanwhile, they found the Dodge stopped in a nearby parking lot.
 
Firefighters revealed that the trapped Honda driver sustained injuries. They immediately extricated the injured through the passenger side of the car. Moreover, medics took her to Hemet Valley Hospital for further treatment.
 
Meanwhile, the Dodge driver suffered a minor head injury. Responders evaluated and treated her at the scene. She also didn’t want further medical treatment to the hospital.
 
Investigators determined that before the crash, the Dodge traveled north on Lyon. As it tried to turn into a business parking lot, the Honda hit her vehicle from behind. The collision left the Honda to roll over until it landed on its roof.
 
Officials temporarily closed northbound Lyon while they work at the area.
 
The Hemet PD’s collision is currently investigating the crash.
