Two Hospitalized after Car Collision in Tacoma
TACOMA, WA (April 8, 2019) – Late Monday morning, two people were injured in a two car accident on Oakes Street at 7-Eleven.
Officers were dispatched to the scene after receiving multiple calls. According to the Tacoma Police Department, the accident happened just before noon on 47th Street.
Police reported that two cars were involved in the collision. As a result, the impact sent one vehicle into the side of a nearby 7-Eleven building. The car came to a rest halfway inside the wall.
The Tacoma Fire Department transported the two drivers to a local hospital for treatment and evaluation. Due to the crash, both occupants suffered minor injuries. Their current medical condition is unclear at this time.
The surrounding area was closed off for a brief time for cleanup and preliminary investigation, but has since reopened. No further details have been released regarding the circumstances leading up to the incident at this time.
