2 Hurt in Indio Car Accident on Highway 111
INDIO, CA (December 11, 2019) – Two people sustained injuries in a car accident on Highway 111 on November 29.
Authorities are still searching for two men who run a red light and crashed with at least two vehicles. The crash occurred at around 2:45 p.m. when an officer on Highway 111 east of Monroe Street noticed a westbound gray Toyota Camry driving at a high speed, Indio police spokesman Ben Guitron revealed.
The officer made a U-turn and tried to stop the vehicle. However, it failed due to heavy traffic. Guitron added that later after, the suspect passed through the red light and crashed with two vehicles at Avenue 46 and Clinton Street.
The incident left two people with injuries. The collision also led the suspect’s vehicle to overturn into a SunBus.
Responders took the driver and a passenger to the Pueblo Del Sol Mobile Home Park. Meanwhile, authorities found a loaded gun inside the suspect’s vehicle.
