2 Hurt after Escondido Car Accident on 15 Freeway
ESCONDIDO, CA (November 13, 2019) – Two people sustained injuries in a car accident on 15 Freeway on November 12.
The collision involved a Border Patrol SUV that got hit on its rear. The crash left a Border Patrol and another motorist with injuries.
Authorities received reports of the crash just before 8:45 a.m. on the northbound 15 Freeway at the end of the onramp from Centre City Parkway, CHP Officer Mark Latulippe said.
According to reports, a male driver of a Nissan Altima headed up the onramp. However, he hit the Border Patrol SUV’s back. The impact caused the SUV to overturn and land on its side.
Medical responders evaluated the 49-year-old Border Patrol agent at the scene for a complaint of pain. Meanwhile, they took the Nissan driver to a hospital for treatment of injuries.
The collision led authorities to close the onramp shortly after the collision. The road reopened by 10:05 a.m.
