Tree Falls onto Car Injuring Mother and Son at 7500 Happy Canyon Road
SANTA YNEZ VALLEY, CA (September 3, 2018) – Early Monday evening, a Santa Ynez mother and son were injured in an accident along Happy Canyon Road.
The incident occurred shortly before 5:30 PM at the 7500 block of Happy Canyon Road, while the two were walking around their property. Both were trapped underneath the fallen oak tree but the son was able to eventually get out by himself.
A hand crew from the Santa Barbara County Fire Department used a chainsaw to cut the tree into pieces and rescue the mother. She suffered major injuries and was flown to the Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital. The boy was transported by ambulance to the Cottage Hospital with minor injuries. There is no update on either person’s current medical condition.
