CHP Investigates a Fiery Wrong-Way Crash on 14 Freeway near Crown Valley Road
Santa Clarita, CA (July 2, 2021) – Friday afternoon, a wrong-way crash between a big rig and another vehicle on 14 Freeway sparked a brush fire.
The wrong-way crash in Santa Clarita happened at around 2:45 p.m. on July 2.
The California Highway Patrol said a vehicle travelled the wrong direction on the 14 Freeway and struck a big rig head-on.
Then the collision upgraded to a brush fire that spread to the brush on the northbound 14 Freeway near Crown Valley Road in Acton.
Moreover, the big rig was fully engulfed and sparked a 200 by 300 spot fire.
Officers said one person was trapped inside the vehicle and a helicopter was then requested to transport two possible patients.
Meanwhile, all northbound 14 Freeway lanes in Acton have been shut down.
No other information is immediately available.
