Drunk Driver Arrested in Horrific Auto-Pedestrian Crash at Bayard Street
San Diego, CA (June 2, 2024) On Sunday morning, 2 pedestrians were seriously hurt after the Grand Avenue suspected DUI crash.
According to the San Diego Police Department, the auto-pedestrian crash happened at about 2 a.m. on Grand Avenue at Bayard Street.
Reports say that the driver of a Ford Explorer struck 2 pedestrians crossing the street. Officials say that the victims were a 30-year-old woman and a 28-year-old man.
Medics rushed both victims to the hospital.
San Diego police say that the driver fled the scene, but was later apprehended in the 3700 block of Ingraham Street.
Officials tested the driver and was later arrested on DUI and felony hit-and-run.
Police are investigating the auto-pedestrian crash and have not released additional details at this time.
