Suspect Arrested after DUI Crash on Marks Avenue and Clinton Avenue in Fresno

Fresno, CA (April 2, 2022) – Friday afternoon, a CHP officer and a 10-year-old were hospitalized after a DUI crash on Marks and Clinton Avenues.

The DUI crash in Fresno happened at around 6:45 p.m. on April 1.

Police said the CHP officer responded to a traffic stop of a stolen vehicle around 6:45 p.m. at the intersection of Marks and Clinton Avenues when he was broad-sighted by a DUI driver.

The officer then spun out of control, jumped onto the median, and hit another vehicle at the intersection.

The vehicle hit had two children, a 10-year-old who was taken to the hospital as a precaution. The 4-year-old remained uninjured.

Moreover, EMS also took the officer to the hospital as a precaution.

Meanwhile, police arrested the 30-year-old Hispanic man, who was driving a white Toyota. He showed signs of intoxication and also found to be on probation for a past DUI.

The man is now facing charges related to the crime and will be booked into the Fresno County Jail.

It is recommended to use a rideshare app if you can’t safely operate a vehicle to avoid this kind of accident.

HIRING A PERSONAL ATTORNEY FROM SWEET LAWYERS

Many of these types of accidents resulted in the other party’s negligence, and if so, you have the right to pursue a personal injury claim.

Therefore, the most valuable step you can take in response to a vehicle crash is hiring a personal injury attorney. Mark Sweet, a personal injury attorney at Sweet Lawyers, says that serious car accident cases may call for a separate investigation spearheaded by an experienced lawyer fighting on behalf of a party.
