Injuries Reported in Silver Lake Accident on 1300 Maltman Avenue

 
SILVER LAKE, CA (January 15, 2023) – Friday night, two people were hurt in a DUI crash on 1300 Maltman Avenue.
 
The incident happened at around 11:30 p.m. in the 1300 block of Maltman Avenue. According to reports, a driver parked his Tesla in a driveway.
 
Reports said that the car already suffered significant front-end damage, likely from hitting the garage. Officer Chavez of the LAPD confirmed that the Tesla also previously hit several parked cars, including the one in the home’s driveway.
 
Initially, the driver closed the car but as it reopened, he get back into the driver’s seat despite concerned calls from the crowd.
 
Two individuals attempted to get the man out of the car.
 
However, the driver reversed and his door hit the pair and dragged them several feet.
 
Responders transported one of the victims to a local hospital in critical but stable condition. Meanwhile, the second only suffered minor pain.
 
According to reports, after the driver stopped briefly in the street, he struck an SUV on the road.
 
Then, the Tesla took off again, but police his car became inoperable.
 
Afterward, he tried to escape on foot but officers tracked him down and apprehended him.
