2 Injured in Somis Motorcycle Accident

SOMIS, CA (January 29, 2019) – Two people were hospitalized, and traffic was blocked following a motorcycle and car collision on Highway 118 on January 27.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the incident was reported about 3:35 p.m. on the eastbound 118 Highway, also called Los Angeles Avenue, near La Cumbre Road. The incident was east of the intersection with Highway 34, on a stretch of the highway that lies northeast of Camarillo and west of Moorpark.

The crash was between a motorcycle and a Toyota Camry sedan, the CHP’s Moorpark office revealed. A male driver carrying a female passenger rode the motorcycle. The motorcycle driver suffered pain while his passenger sustained moderate injuries that are non-life-threatening. The two occupants of the motorcycle were transported to Los Robles Regional Medical Center, CHP officials added.

The Camry’s driver and two passengers were reportedly unharmed, authorities said.

Weaving in and out of lanes is dangerous. Always stay at your lane and be aware of the presence of other motorists around you. Pay attention and consider small vehicles like motorcycles and bicycles because these are more prone to road accidents than bigger vehicles.
