2 Injured in Newport Beach Car Collision
NEWPORT BEACH, CA (February 18, 2020) – Two people required hospitalization after a car collision on Irvine Avenue on February 12.
The incident involving a UC Irvine student transportation van and a Chevrolet Suburban occurred just before 10:00 p.m. The vehicles collided at the intersection of Irvine Avenue and Bristol Street, Newport Beach Sgt. Ryan Peters revealed.
“The Suburban was only occupied by the driver, and it appeared to have run a red light,” Peters added. “That driver is being treated for non-life-threatening injuries at a trauma center.”
A driver and three passengers occupied the UC Irvine van. Responders then took one of the passengers to a trauma center with non-life-threatening injuries. The other three occupants refused treatment at the scene.
