STANISLAUS COUNTY, CA (February 22, 2022) – Monday morning, two drivers died in a multi-vehicle crash on River Road near Villa Manucha Road.
 
The incident happened just before 5:30 a.m. on River Road near Villa Manucha Road. Moreover, the crash involved a Ram truck, a Nissan Maxima, and a tractor-trailer. Also, it happened just north of Newman and southeast of Crows Landing.
 
When the authorities arrived, they found the truck on its side and had caught fire. Also, the Nissan was found on the same shoulder but it remained on its wheels. Then, they found the tractor-trailer on the opposite shoulder and in its wheels.
 
As a result, the drivers of the Ram and Nissan succumbed to their injuries at the scene. At this time, their identities remain undisclosed.
 
According to investigators, the Ram trailed the tractor-trailer on River Road. Then, it attempted to pass the trailer by using the opposite lane. However, the Ram crashed head-on with the Nissan as it approached from the opposite direction.
 
Furthermore, the incident shut down River Road between Villa Manucha and Azevedo roads.
