Head-On Crash on State Route 89 Involving Trucks Kills 2 Drivers, Injures 2 Children

Prescott, AZ (July 10, 2021) – A fatal crash occurred on State Route 89 and Granite Dells Parkway on Friday morning. 

According to Prescott Police Department Lt. Jon Brambila, the tragic incident happened on July 9 at about 7:30 a.m. 

Officers responded to the scene after receiving reports of a collision. Shortly after arriving, they found two drivers dead on the scene near the wreck. 

Based on the report, the collision involved a Toyota truck and a Dodge truck that was towing a trailer with masonry blocks. 

The collision also left two children ages two and four with life-threatening injuries. Brambila said emergency personnel airlifted both children to a hospital. Furthermore, both of them are in stable condition.

Fatal Crash in Prescott

In an initial investigation, authorities found out that the 33-year-old driver of the Toyota truck heading west crossed the highway. As a result,  the 44-year-old driver of the Dodge truck collided head-on into the Toyota truck.

Further details were not immediately available. Once available, it will be released to the public.
