Two Oak Harbor Residents Seriously Injured after a Head-On Crash near Deception Pass

 
Island County, WA (May 21, 2021) – Thursday afternoon, two people sustained serious injuries after a head-on collision near Deception Pass.
 
The Island County crash happened on May 20.
 
The State Patrol said a 79-year-old driver was southbound when she suffered a medical emergency and swerved into the oncoming lane, collided head-on with a car driven by a 68-year-old man.
 
As a result, the woman was airlifted to a hospital in Everett while the man was taken to Anacortes.
 
Meanwhile, Highway 20 was blocked just south of the Deception Pass bridge for about 3 hours.
 
No other information is released. Further investigation is ongoing.
