2 People Hurt in Merced Multi-Vehicle Accident

 
MERCED, CA (June 6, 2019) – Two drivers suffered injuries in a multi-vehicle crash on Foothill Drive on June 4.
 
Authorities responded on Foothill Drive and G Street at around 10:47 a.m.
 
Merced Police Officer Craig McKeeman revealed that while A BMW 3 series turn left from Foothill Drive onto G Street, a southbound Chevrolet 3500 pickup truck that ran a red light hit it.
 
The crash led the BMW to spun across the road and crash with a Toyota Camry that stopped north on G Street. However, the BMW eventually landed in a ditch and its driver got trapped. Moreover, the fire department helped in freeing the driver.
 
The pickup truck driver sustained severe lacerations to his hands. As a result, the victim went to Mercy Medical Center in Merced.
 
Meanwhile, responders airlifted the male BMW driver to a Modesto area hospital with neck and back injuries.
 
Authorities ruled out drugs and alcohol as factors in the crash.
