2 Dies Several Injured in Traffic Collision on Highway 138 [Phelan, CA]

Phelan, CA (October 3, 2022) On Sunday afternoon, 2 people died and several others were injured after a traffic collision on Highway 138.

CHP says that the fatal 2-vehicle collision happened along State Route 138, near Sheep Creek Road in Phelan at about 5:43 p.m.

Reports say that the collision involved a blue 2000 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 and a white Mitsubishi sedan. The crash separated the sedan into 2 parts.

Furthermore, officials say that the westbound sedan crossed over the solid double-yellow lines and directly into the Chevy.

San Bernardino County firefighters responded to the scene and provided aid to the injured occupants of the vehicles.

Rescuers say that 2 people died in the collision, while a child and 2 others sustained injuries. Paramedics transported the patients to a hospital.

Meanwhile, a medical helicopter airlifted one other patient to Arrowhead Regional Medical Center.

Furthermore, CHP is investigating the collision and have not released additional information at this time.
