2 Killed in Gainseville Auto Accident on Interstate 35

GAINSEVILLE, TX (February 21, 2024) – Tuesday morning, two people died in a tragic vehicle crash on Interstate 35.

The incident involving two vehicles happened on Interstate 35.

According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, a vehicle struck a semi-truck that was disabled from an earlier crash. Then, the force of the crash ejected the driver of the vehicle and one of its passengers into the roadway.

Responders pronounced the 19-year-old driver and the 22-year-old passenger of the vehicle, dead at the scene.

Also, authorities confirmed that no one was in the semi truck when the incident occurred.

At this time, the circumstances that led to the crash remained unclear. Once additional details become available, the public will be notified.

Due to the limited information available, the Texas Department of Public Safety continued to investigate the crash.
