Two Killed in Seattle House Fire on Spear Place and South Barton Street
SEATTLE, WA (January 3, 2019) – Two people were found dead inside a house that contained what firefighters believed was a marijuana growing operation.
Fire investigators and the Seattle police arson and bomb squad responded in the area trying to determine what started the deadly fire.
The blaze broke out near Spear Place and South Barton Street around 5:45 a.m. on Monday, December 31.
According to one neighbor, she heard four or five loud pops that sounded like gunshots.
When firefighters arrived at the area, they saw huge flames on the south end of the house.
Once inside, one firefighter fell through a 15-by-15-foot hole in the first floor. He did not sustain any injuries.
Crews discovered two bodies in the home. They also found what they believe to be a marijuana growing operation.
Authorities still can’t release the identity of the dead persons or offer any more information on the size of the marijuana-growing operation.
