MISSION BEACH, CA (October 31, 2022) – Saturday afternoon, two people died in a head-on crash on Mission Boulevard near San Fernando Place.
 
The incident happened at around 3:10 p.m. on Mission Boulevard near San Fernando Place.
 
According to the San Diego Fire-Rescue Department, a southbound Ford EcoSport compact SUV traveling in the northbound lanes collided head-on with a northbound Kia Sportage.
 
Moreover, officials confirmed that two victims succumbed to injuries and were pronounced dead at the scene. Then, paramedics transported a total of five people, including a Ford passenger with internal chest bleeding and a Kia occupant with critical injuries. Also, responders provided aid to a Ford passenger and two Kia passengers with minor injuries.
 
Furthermore, authorities withheld the identity of the deceased, pending notification to the next of kin.
 
Meanwhile, officers asked everyone to avoid the area and to find alternate routes.
 
The incident remained under investigation.
