2 Killed and 1 Injured in Berkley Multi-Vehicle Accident on Interstate 80 and University Avenue
BERKELEY, CA (September 13, 2021) – Sunday morning, two people died in a crash on Interstate 80 and University Avenue.
According to Oakland California Highway Patrol, the incident happened at around 1:36 a.m. Moreover, it occurred on Interstate 80, west of University Avenue.
Reports revealed that the crash involved a Mini Cooper, a Chevrolet Malibu, and a Dodge Durango. Two male drivers and a female passenger exited their respective vehicles and started an argument.
Moments later, a Mini Cooper struck the two male drivers. Meanwhile, some debris possibly hit the passenger. Also, the Cooper driver, a 50-year-old San Francisco man, remained at the scene after the incident.
Moreover, officials confirmed that the two drivers sustained fatal injuries in the collision. Meanwhile, responders transported the female passenger to a hospital with minor injuries.
Furthermore, authorities closed all four lanes of I-80 eastbound to give way to the investigation.
