Man and Woman Killed in Jamul Head-on Crash on Lyons Valley Road
JAMUL, CA (June 3, 2019) – Two teenagers died after a head-on collision in Jamul between a pickup truck and a Jeep Wrangler on Sunday, June 2.
According to CHP Officer Jeff Christy, the accident occurred just before midnight on Lyons Valley Road, west of Reservoir Drive.
A green GMC Sonoma pickup truck traveled eastbound when it veered into the path of a black Jeep Wrangler, Christy stated.
A 19-year-old Lemon Grove man driving the GMC died as was his passenger, a 19-year-old Jamul woman, according to CHP officials. Neither wore their seat belts.
The 18-year-old El Cajon woman driving the Wrangler sustained injuries together with three teenagers who were traveling in her Jeep.
Their injuries were not considered life-threatening, Christy said. She added that they were either treated at the scene or transported to a nearby hospital to be examined.
The CHP is investigating the reason behind the crash.
