Two People Hospitalized after Speeding Collision
RENTON, WA (November 19, 2018) – On Saturday morning, at least two people were taken to the hospital after being involved in a DUI crash on Maple Valley Highway. The identities of the victims have not yet been released to the public.
According to police reports, the crash was caused by a combination of speed and alcohol. It appeared that a speeding vehicle, whose driver was allegedly drunk, caused the collision. The events leading up to the accident are unclear at this time.
First responders arrived at the scene and rushed the two victims to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle, for treatment and evaluation. Officials stated that both sustained life-threatening injuries, but there is no update on their current medical conditions at this time.
Meanwhile, all lanes of the highway between the 405 Freeway and Maplewood Park were closed for several hours as clearing operations and preliminary investigation took place in the area. No further details have been disclosed, as the investigation continues.
