2 Caltrans Workers Injured in Box Truck Crash on Interstate 5 and Hilltop Drive [Redding, CA]

Injuries Reported in Redding Auto Accident on Interstate 5 and Hilltop Drive

 
REDDING, CA (March 2, 2022) – Tuesday afternoon, two Caltrans workers sustained injuries in a box truck crash on Interstate 5 and Hilltop Drive.
 
The incident happened just before 1:00 p.m. in the northbound lanes of Interstate 5, north of Hilltop Drive.
 
According to the CHP, a box truck traveling in the right lane crashed into the back of the Caltrans truck.
 
As a result, two Caltrans workers, a 25-year-old man from Anderson and a 66-year-old man from Bella Vista, sustained injuries. Responders took them to a local hospital for treatment of major injuries.
 
Meanwhile, the 40-year-old male driver of the box truck didn’t require hospitalization.
 
Also, the incident shut down the #2 lane for several hours while crews worked at the scene. Due to the limited information available, the crash remains under investigation.
