2 Dead in Chatsworth Bicycle Accident on Lurline Avenue
CHATSWORTH, CA (January 5, 2022) – Tuesday night, two bicyclists died in a hit-and-run crash on Lurline Avenue.
The incident occurred just before 7:15 p.m. in 9500 Lurline Avenue, said LAFD’s Margaret Stewart.
When the authorities arrived, they found two bicyclists dead at the scene. Meanwhile, the suspect escaped the crash scene, said Officer Mike Lopez, a spokesman for the LAPD.
According to reports, a red Toyota Tacoma pickup truck crashed into a wall near the intersection of Knapp and Desoto. This incident happened about a half-mile away after the crash.
Thus, authorities arrested the suspect and took them to a local hospital for minor injuries.
At this time, the authorities haven’t identified whether alcohol or drugs played a role in the crash.
Also, reports said that the victims include one male and one female. Their identities remain undisclosed due to pending family notification.
Due to the limited information available, the authorities continue to investigate the crash.
