2 People Airlifted after Startling Auto Accident on Highway 247 [Johnson Valley, CA]

Injuries Reported in Johnson Valley Traffic Crash on Highway 247 and Rattlesnake Canyon Road

JOHNSON VALLEY, CA (September 23, 2024) – Saturday afternoon, 2 people were airlifted after a startling auto accident on Highway 247.

The crash between a white Ford F-150 pickup truck and a gold color motorhome happened just after 2:00 p.m. on Highway 247 and Rattlesnake Canyon Road.

Firefighters from the San Bernardino County Fire Department worked to rescue a driver and passenger who were trapped inside a pickup truck following an incident, according to the California Highway Patrol traffic log. 

After a lengthy effort, the victims were successfully extricated and transferred to two waiting helicopters for transport. Mercy Air #22 and Mercy Air Big Bear H285 flew the individuals to Desert Regional Medical Center in Palm Springs. 

As of Saturday evening, their conditions remain undisclosed.
