2 Injured in Dewey Multi-Vehicle Crash
DEWEY, AZ (September 18, 2019) – Two people sustained injuries in a multi-vehicle crash on Highway 169 on September 17.
The three-vehicle crash involving two trucks and a cement truck shut down Highway 169 for almost three hours between milepost 1 near Highway 69 and 17 Freeway.
The Arizona Department of Public Safety (DPS) revealed that the two trucks collided head-on at around 6:30 a.m. As a result, a helicopter transported two people to a Phoenix-area hospital with life-threatening injuries, stated Cougan Carothers, a battalion chief with the Central Arizona Fire and Medical Authority.
The crash prompted the Arizona Department of Transportation to shut down the highway at around 7:00 a.m. They reopened it at 10:15 a.m.
The authorities are still investigating.
