Injuries Reported in Lompoc Motorcycle Accident on North H Street near Central Avenue
LOMPOC, CA (October 4, 2022) – Monday afternoon, two people suffered injuries in a big rig vs motorcycle crash on North H Street near Central Avenue.
The accident happened at around 2:40 p.m. on North H Street near Central Avenue.
According to reports, a motorcycle split lanes while traffic stopped.
“The rear passenger of the motorcycle stood up, which caused the driver of the motorcycle to lose balance,” police Sgt. Jorge Magana said. “The motorcycle driver fell, causing both rider and passenger to fall into lane two and between a trailer and the semi-truck. The light turned green, and the semi-truck drove off, dragging the motorcycle and both occupants of the motorcycle.”
“The truck driver felt the trailer move, looked back in his mirror, and saw the motorcyclists,” he said “The truck driver immediately stopped and reported the incident to the police department.”
Helicopters from both CalStar and the County Air Support Unit responded to take a male patient and a female patient, both with leg injuries, to Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital.
Also, the authorities do not believe that alcohol and drugs played a role in the crash.
