Texas Man Killed in Motorcycle Collision near East El Campo Road
ARROYO GRANDE, CA (October 7, 2018) – A motorcyclist was killed late Sunday afternoon following a crash on Highway 101. The name of the deceased victim is being withheld, pending family notification.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the incident took place at about 4:50 PM near El Campo Road. A 2018 BMW was heading east on El Campo when it made an unsafe left turn, directly in front of a 2015 Yamaha motorcycle.
The rider, identified as an 18-year-old man from Plano, Texas, slid into the left side of the BMW and was critically injured. Unfortunately, he succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene by responding officers. Meanwhile, the 42-year-old BMW driver remained at the crash site and cooperated with investigators.
An investigation is ongoing to determine the cause of the fatal crash and to identify possible contributing factors. Anyone who may have witnessed the incident is asked to contact the San Luis Obispo CHP office at (805) 594-8700. Additional information will be released once it becomes available.
