17-Year-Old Transported in Down Avenue Accident [Odessa, TX]

Odessa, TX (February 9, 2024) – A 17-year-old boy was injured following a Down Avenue accident Thursday morning.

The OPD officers responded at 8:14 a.m. to the pedestrian vs car collision on 52nd Street.

Investigators said a 16-year-old girl driving a southbound car on Dawn Avenue tried to turn eastbound onto 52nd Street.

Unfortunately, the girl struck the 17-year-old boy who was walking southbound on the crosswalk.

The pedestrian was transported to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries while the authorities cited the girl for failure to yield the right of way to a pedestrian at a control sign.
