Teen Driver Arrested after DUI Crash on Hewitt Avenue Trestle
EVERETT, WA (September 26, 2019) – A 17-year-old boy is now facing DUI charges after a crash on Hewitt Avenue Trestle, Thursday evening.
According to the Washington State Patrol, the incident happened near Highway 2. There, a pickup truck in the westbound lanes struck a guardrail. The impact of the crash caused the truck to spin around to face oncoming traffic.
As per reports, the teen driver exited the vehicle and walked away from the scene, leaving the wreckage in the middle of the road. A short time later, officers located the teen and arrested him on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol.
The WSP continues to investigate the crash. Authorities will release additional information to the public once it becomes available.
