FRESNO, CA (February 13, 2023) – Sunday morning, a 16-year-old person died after a suspected DUI crash on Elkhorn Avenue near Jameson Avenue.

The incident happened at around 5:25 a.m. on Elkhorn Avenue, west of Jameson Avenue.

According to reports, a Toyota Tacoma traveling at a high rate of speed failed to negotiate a curb. Thus, it rolled over multiple times into the dirt shoulder. Then, the force of the crash ejected a 16-year-old passenger of the vehicle and its driver into the roadway.

Moreover, paramedics rushed to the scene and performed life-saving measures on the 16-year-old victim, but to no avail. Responders pronounced the victim dead at the scene. Also, three other passengers of the vehicle sustained minor injuries and refused further treatment at the scene.

Furthermore, officers arrested the 26-year-old driver of the vehicle for Felony DUI and Manslaughter.
