People Killed in Ector County Head-On Collision
Ector County, TX (November 22, 2024) – 18-year-old twins Jaden and Jackie Perkins, their sister, 16-year-old Nautica Perkins, of Odessa, and 48-year-old Gary Don Liles, of Brownfield, were killed in an FM 1053 collision Wednesday night.
Texas DPS said it was about 7:20 p.m. when Gary Don Liles’s 2024 GM Sierra traveled south on the highway.
At the same time, a 2012 Jeep Wrangler driven by Jackie Perkins was traveling north on the same road.
The two vehicles collided head-on and the Jeep became fully engulfed in flames.
Jaden, Jackie, and Nautica Perkins, who were riding the Jeep were killed at the scene.
Moreover, the rescuers airlifted Liles to Medical Center Hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries.
Lt. Heather Perkins, the mother of the three teens, received a notification from one of her children’s phones indicating a collision on FM 1053. She was one of the first people on the scene and the Jeep was on fire when she arrived.
Jackie and Jaden turned 18 on November 13 and Nautica turned 16 on November 17.
The Ector County Sheriff’s Office has created a GoFundMe to help the bereaved.
