Driver and Passenger Injured in SR 510 Fatal Crash
Yelm, WA (April 21, 2022) – On Tuesday, a 16-year-old girl lost her life and two others sustained injuries in a State Route 510 collision.
It was just minutes before 11 p.m. when the collision happened east of 15th Avenue Southeast.
Officers say that a car driven by a 17-year-old girl left the roadway, and hit a tree and a telephone pole.
Unfortunately, the 16-year-old girl passenger died at the crash scene.
The paramedics rushed the driver and her other passenger, an 18-year-old woman to the hospital.
Meanwhile, officer Robert Reyer says some form of unidentified distraction caused the driver to swerve off the road. He also mentioned that he doesn’t consider this collision a DUI case.
