Teenage Boy from Cottonwood Hospitalized after SUV Crashes into Tree near Lynn Hart Drive
ANDERSON, CA (October 18, 2018) – On Thursday evening, a 16-year-old boy was injured in an SUV crash on Rhonda Road. The victim was only identified as a teen male from Cottonwood.
According to officials with the California Highway Patrol, the collision took place at approximately 9:00 PM on southbound Rhonda Rd, near Lynn Hart Drive.
The victim’s 1995 Toyota SUV reportedly slid off the roadway and hit a tree off the side of the road. It was not clear why he lost control of his sport utility vehicle when he hit a curve. It is unclear how fast he was traveling at the time of the incident.
According to the rescue personnel, they had to free the teen from the wreckage. He was taken to the Mercy Medical Center in Redding with multiple serious injuries, and a hospital spokesman stated that he was in critical condition. No other vehicles or injuries were reported in the crash.
The crash remains under investigation, and no additional information has been released to the public at this time.
