Teenage Skateboarder Airlifted after Accident on Mulberry Drive
SOUTH WHITTIER, CA (October 18, 2019) – A 16-year-old boy suffered injuries in a skateboard accident on Mulberry Drive, early Friday evening.
As per reports, the incident happened at about 4:35 PM. Due to unknown reasons, a van struck the young skateboarder near the intersection of Mulberry Drive and Ruoff Drive.
Firefighter paramedics treated the teenage boy on the scene before transporting him to USC Medical Center via helicopter. Updates on the victim’s current condition remain undisclosed. Meanwhile, the driver of the van remained and cooperated with investigators.
Authorities continue to investigate the cause of the incident. Police also noted that the skateboarder was not in a marked crosswalk at the time of the collision. Officers will release additional information once it becomes available.
