Christopher Manuel Rodriguezinigo Arrested for DUI Crash near Olive Avenue
LONG BEACH, CA (June 5, 2018) – On Tuesday morning, a teenage boy was seriously injured in a pedestrian crash on Market Street. The teenager was struck by a driver suspected to be under the influence of marijuana, identified as 19-year-old Christopher Manuel Rodriguezinigo of Long Beach.
According to Long Beach Police, the collision happened shortly before 7:30 AM. A 2009 Ford Flex, driven by Rodriguezinigo, was heading east on Market Street from Lime Avenue when it struck the juvenile pedestrian crossing.
The teenager was crossing northbound from the south side of the street mid-block between Lime and Olive avenues. His identity remains undisclosed, due to his age. Police stated that the boy sustained critical injuries and was transported to a nearby hospital for evaluation and treatment. Details and updates about the boy’s condition were not immediately available.
Rodriguezinigo stopped at the scene to cooperate with the investigation, where it was revealed that he might have been driving under the influence of marijuana. The 19-year-old driver was arrested at the scene and booked on suspicion of driving under the influence of drugs. He was held in lieu of a $100,000 bail.
