Police Searches for South Sacramento Hit-and-Run Suspect
Elk Grove, CA (March 12, 2022) On Friday, a 15-year-old student was hurt in the Caymus Drive hit-and-run collision.
The California Highway Patrol (CHP) says the accident happened around noon as the teenager was crossing Caymus Drive just south of Brittany Park Drive.
Authorities are actively seeking the suspect in the crash that happened near the Maeola R. Beitzel Elementary School in South Sacramento.
Reports say that an SUV driver did not stop as the boy was crossing the street and struck the bicyclist.
The minor was thrown out of his bicycle onto the roadway.
Officials say that the driver did not stop to aid the fallen boy and took off.
Rescuers took the boy to a hospital with serious injuries.
