19-Year-Old Landon Sexsmith Arrested in Woodland Solo-Car Injury Crash
Woodland, WA (March 07, 2022) On Saturday, a solo-car crash on Interstate 5 sent a 14-year-old boy to the hospital.
The Washington State Patrol (WSP) says that the crash happened around 5:15 p.m. southbound Interstate 5 at milepost 20.
Moreover, 19-year-old Landon J. Sexsmith, attempting to pass on the left shoulder, lost control of his 1998 Toyota Tacoma pickup and collided with a cable barrier.
Rescuers say that Sexsmith was not hurt.
Meanwhile, paramedics took his 14-year-old passenger to Legacy Emanuel Medical Center in Portland for treatment.
Authorities booked Sexsmith on suspicion of vehicular assault and felony hit-and-run into the Clark County Jail.
When driving, scan the road a full mile ahead in order to look out or recognize potential hazards in time.
Aim high in steering, i.e. don’t make your steering adjustments based on what is directly in front of you, but rather what is down the road.
If the road is winding to the right, for example, look as far into the turn as possible. This will improve your safety and make your turns smoother.
Injuries in While Traveling
Washington’s road accident rate continues to increase, rather than decrease, despite the additional safety features on newer vehicle models.
The increasing crash rate reflects that auto accidents are a major public health threat. They are a leading cause of death for individuals ages 5-64.
According to the NHTSA, two out of three motorists will be involved in an injury accident during their life.
Is important to know what to do if you incur a crash like the solo-vehicle accident on Interstate 5.
