14-Year-Old Boy Dies in Stolen Truck Crash on Highway 63 [Visalia, CA]

Fatal Vehicle Collision in Visalia Sends People to Hospital

Visalia, CA (July 22, 2022) – On Friday morning, a 14-year-old male passenger loses his life in a stolen truck crash on Highway 63.

The authorities received the crash report at about 8 a.m. north of Marlin Avenue.

According to the police, a 15-year-old boy was driving a 2005 Chevrolet Silverado on the highway. Apparently, the vehicle was stolen in Dinuba.

Officers say that the teen driver drifted onto the freeway shoulder and made a sharp turn to the left. The vehicle drove into the northbound lane colliding head-on with a 2019 Chevrolet Traverse. Both of the vehicles then crashed into a parked 2014 Kenworth.

A 14-year-old boy who was in the rear passenger seat of the Silverado wasn’t wearing a seatbelt at the time of the collision. Sadly, he died at the scene.

Moreover, the paramedics rushed the 15-year-old Silverado driver, a 14-year-old girl passenger, and the Traverse driver to a hospital with major injuries.

Officers say alcohol and drugs did not play a role in the incident. However, they are still investigating the cause of the vehicle collision in Visalia.

California’s road accident rate continues to increase, rather than decrease, despite the additional safety features on newer vehicle models.
