13-Year-Old Boy Injured in Suspected DUI Crash near Palm Avenue and Herndon Avenue [Fresno, CA]

Boy Hospitalized in Fresno Incident near Palm Avenue and Herndon Avenue

 
FRESNO, CA (January 26, 2021) – On Monday, a 13-year-old boy sustained injuries in a suspected DUI crash near Palm Avenue and Herndon Avenue in Fresno, California.
 
According to authorities, the suspect was first seen sleeping on a black SUV at a stoplight near Palm Avenue and Herndon Avenue. The driver woke up after multiple vehicles honk their horns at the man. The suspect then starts driving down Palm Street.
 
Then, the suspect vehicle hit a curb and lost control and veered off towards the opposite lane where it collided head-on with a van.
 
Afterward, responding firefighters worked for 30 minutes to extricate a trapped 13-year-old passenger from the van.
 
Also, paramedics rushed the boy to Community Regional Medical Center with critical injuries.
 
Meanwhile, the causing driver and the driver of the van both sustained no injuries in the crash.
 
Authorities arrested the SUV driver on suspicion of driving under the influence.
