Camper Van and Bicycle Involved in Collision at Berthoud Parkway
LOVELAND, CO (August 8, 2018) – A 13-year-old boy was reportedly injured Wednesday morning in a bicycle crash on Highway 287. His name and place of residence were not immediately released to the public.
According to reports, the young victim was heading southbound on Berthoud Parkway (County Road 17) when he was hit by a 2007 Chevrolet van that was traveling northbound on Highway 287. The collision occurred around 11:30 AM.
According to a release from Larimer County Sheriff’s Office Spokesman Jered Kramer, the boy was taken to a local hospital for treatment of injuries and was listed to be in a stable condition, as of Wednesday afternoon. A man and a woman inside the van, both from Longmont, were not injured in the crash.
Northbound lanes were temporarily closed while rescue and clearing operations took place. The road reopened around 4:30 PM, and an investigation is ongoing to determine liabilities.
