13-Year-Old Bicyclist Injured in Hit-and-Run Crash on King Street [Merced, CA]

Traffic Collision on Mediterranean Avenue Injures Teen Bicyclist

Merced, CA (July 07, 2022) – On Monday, at about 10:55 a.m., a 13-year-old bicyclist sustained injuries in a hit-and-run crash on King Street.

The traffic incident took place in the area of Mediterranean Avenue which also involved another vehicle.

When the rescuers arrived at the scene, they located the victim suffering from minor injuries.

Immediately, the paramedics took the victim by ambulance to Memorial Medical Center in Modesto.

Officers say the bicyclist was northbound across King Street while the other vehicle was westbound on Mediterranean Avenue.

 The driver’s side of the vehicle crashed with the bicyclist and fled the scene westbound on Mediterranean Avenue.

Officers say there is no details on how fast the suspect vehicle was traveling when it collided with the cyclist. 

Moreover, the investigators say that the suspect vehicle is a 2014 to 2019 silver Hyundai Sonata which may have damage on its driver’s side.
