Injuries Reported in East County Accident on Interstate 8 near Buckman Springs Road
EAST COUNTY, CA (December 8, 2021) – Tuesday, thirteen people sustained injuries in a police chase crash on Interstate 8 near Buckman Springs Road.
According to Cal Fire spokesperson Frank Lococo, the incident happened at around 6:15 p.m. Moreover, it occurred on westbound Interstate 8 near Buckman Springs Road.
Reports revealed that a Pickup Truck refused to pull over. Thus, a chase with Border Patrol agents started, spokesperson Gerrelaine Alcordo said. Then, the pickup truck crashed and ejected multiple unrestrained passengers onto the road.
Moreover, responders transported one person to a hospital via helicopter. Meanwhile, paramedics transported the rest of the victims to a hospital via ground ambulance.
Furthermore, the incident blocked the westbound lanes of Interstate 8 for about 90 minutes.
Meanwhile, the incident remains under investigation.
