Child Injured in Quad Accident on Cypress Place
Menifee, CA (February 12, 2022) – On Thursday, a 12-year-old Menifee boy sustained injuries in a Cypress Place quad crash.
The collision took place at about 5:30 p.m. in the 23700 block area.
Officers said the victim was using a toy quadricycle that broke down. Then, a girl who was riding a full-size quad offered to tow the boy.
There are no details if the children were related.
“The juveniles tied the two quads together and began towing the inoperative one,” an officer said. “At one point, the towed quad lost control and overturned. The male juvenile, who was not wearing a helmet, was ejected and suffered a head injury.”
Moreover, the emergency responders airlifted the victim to Riverside University Medical Center in Moreno Valley, where he is in stable condition.
Yield right of way. It is important to understand the right of way. Be sure to yield to drivers who have the right of way. However, it is safe to never assume that all drivers know the rules. Only proceed when it is safe to do so.
