Two Vehicles Involved in Injury Collision near Ridgecrest Road
VICTORVILLE, CA (September 21, 2018) – A 12-year-old girl was airlifted to a hospital following a crash on Chinquapin Drive, mid Friday afternoon.
According to the San Bernardino County Fire Department, the collision took place at approximately 2:30 PM near Ridgecrest Road. The involved vehicles were a silver 2012 Toyota Camry and a white 2001 Chevy Tahoe. The events leading up to the collision are unclear at this time.
When emergency medics arrived on the scene, the young victim was unconscious. She later became alert and complained of neck and back pain, and was transported by ground ambulance to the Desert Valley Hospital before being airlifted to a trauma center at the Loma Linda University Medical Center. There is no update on her current medical condition. Two other people from the crash were reported to have minor injuries.
Ridgecrest Road was briefly closed while emergency personnel cleared the crash site and conducted preliminary investigations. No additional information has been released to the public, as the California Highway Patrol continues to investigate the incident.
