Child Injured in Bicycle Accident in Napa
NAPA, CA (May 13, 2019) – A 12-year-old bicyclist sustained injuries in a collision with a pickup truck on Kansas Avenue, Thursday afternoon.
Authorities responded to the accident just west of Soscol Avenue around 4:40 p.m. Dispatcers arrived near an entrance to the South Napa Marketplace soon after.
Police say the child was riding the bicycle westbound on Kansas Avenue, when a pickup truck turning into the Marketplace parking lot struck him.
An air ambulance eventually took the child to UCSF Benioff Children’s Hospital Oakland for further treatment. The child was expected to fully recover as per the family.
Officials closed the Kansas Avenue entryway to the shopping center after the crash. However, the roadway remained open.
